wellness breaks

 

Wellness can be defined as an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. It's more than being free from illness -- it is a dynamic process of growth and change. Wellness is crucial because everything we do and feel relates to our well-being. In turn, our well-being directly affects our actions and emotions.

Wellness Breaks take place on Wednesdays at 12:00 PM. At locations across Loyalist College, different groups from Student Life and Student Services offer a variety of activities which are designed to promote different aspects of being well.

Campus Rec's Wellness Break offerings begin September 11th and are more of the physical activity variety, though some are low-key and introspective while others are more up-tempo and social.

September 

  • Slacklining, on the grounds outside of the Parrott Library, weather permitting

October

  • Slacklining (through the 16th)
  • Yoga (beginning the 30th), in 1L26
  • Sports in the Gymnasium (clean athletic indoor shoes required)
    • 30th - Dodgeball

November

  • Yoga in 1L26
  • Sports in the Gymnasium (clean athletic indoor shoes required)
    • 13th - Volleyball
    • 20th - Badminton
    • 27th - Basketball

December (4th only)

  • Yoga in 1L26
  • Pickleball in the Gymnasium (clean athletic indoor shoes required)

January

  • Yoga in 1L26
  • Sports in the Gymnasium (clean athletic indoor shoes required)
    • 8th - Dodgeball
    • 15th - Volleyball
    • 22nd - Badminton
    • 29th - Basketball

February

  • Yoga in 1L26 (5th, 12th, & 19th)
  • Sports in the Gymnasium (clean athletic indoor shoes required)
    • 5th - Pickleball
    • 12th - Dodgeball
    • 19th - Volleyball

March

  • Yoga in 1L26 (4th, 11th, & 18th)
  • Sports in the Gymnasium (clean athletic indoor shoes required)
    • 4th - Badminton
    • 11th - Pickleball
