Affordability

Every student-athlete on a varsity team at Loyalist College is eligible to receive up to $3,000 for the 2024/2025 season, the maximum athletic scholarship allowed in the Ontario College Athletic Association (OCAA).

As one of the few colleges in the Country to offer a scholarship program of this magnitude, the Lancers are committed to providing an exceptional student-athlete experience that helps ensure Loyalist College is a sought-after post-secondary destination. 

Student-athletes will be required to sign the Loyalist Lancers scholarship agreement at the beginning of the season. Conditions of the agreement are listed below:

• Be a full-time student at Loyalist College
• Meet & maintain the academic requirements determined by the Athletic Department and individual academic programs
  • This includes passing all courses & maintaining at least the minimum average for graduation
• Full commitment to team practices, competitions and sanctioned events.
  • Special exceptions may be permitted by the Head Coach or Athletics Department
• Adhere to all rules and policies of the Athletic Department
  • Team rules, varsity team room rules, strength & conditioning policies, athletic therapy policies etc.
• Follow the guidelines of Loyalist College's student code of conduct, Ontario College Athletic Association (OCAA) & Canadian College Athletic Association (CCAA) policies
  • This includes residence policies (if applicable)
• Maintain a high level of personal fitness throughout the duration of the scholarship
  • Complete all fitness testing, team fitness programs etc
• Always display an appropriate standard of conduct & sportsmanship.
  • Scholarship recipients shall never engage in any activity which may bring Loyalist College or the Athletic Department into disrepute.
