LANCERS BOAST 42 NATIONAL SCHOLAR AWARDS

The Canadian College Athletic Association (CCAA) released their list of 2022-2023 National Scholars on Friday September 15th and as is tradition, the Lancers were well represented. 

The award recognizes student-athletes who achieve honours standing in academics while competing in intercollegiate athletics and was awarded to a total of 42 Loyalist student-athletes. That number represents over 50% of the student-athletes who participated in the '22-'23 season with the Lancers and is a direct reflection of the focus and importance placed on academics at Loyalist. 

Director of Athletics & Recreation Cristy Latham takes pride in these stats and while new to her role, looks to carry on the tradition of academic excellence within the programs. "I'm thrilled our athletes prioritize both their academics and their sport" Latham says. "This reflects Loyalist's commitment to developing students who are prepared for the workforce while benefitting from building their leadership, problem solving and teamwork skills through sport. We are very thankful for the support of our academic and student services staff."
