REID AND ASUNCION NAMED ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Madi Reid and Connor Asuncion have been named this week's Freshii Athletes of the Week. 

Having spent a year in the OUA rugby circuit, Reid joined the Lancers  and has made an immediate impact. Her contribution to her team's 3-1 record in their final regular season tournament of the year extends far beyond the scoreboard. Reid, a 5'6" back from Stirling, ON, was the team's top defender and played exceptionally well at the scrum-half position. She contributed a try in the team's 26-0 win over the Humber Hawks and exuded positivity the entire tournament. 

Asuncion is in his first year with the X-Country team and has been the team's top runner in all four races so far this season. The 5'10' runner from Kingston, ON has shown continuous improvement over the course of the season and turned in a personal best time over the weekend at the Centennial Colts Invitational at their Ashtonbeen Campus. Asuncion completed the 8km race in 31 minutes and 40 seconds, shaving more than 30 seconds off his previous finish. With the Centennial meet in the books, Asuncion and his team turn are gearing up for the 2023 OCAA Provincial Championships hosted by the Conestoga Condors in Kitchener.
