'02-'03 Men's Volleyball Team

Building on a successful previous season, the 2002-03 Men’s Volleyball team set their sights on the CCAA National Championships, from day one.  With Coach Carson at the helm, the Lancers engaged in laser focused, highly purposeful training all season long and prioritized high-level competition to ensure their compete level remained where it needed to be to accomplish their goals come season’s end.

The team went about completing a record season with tenacity and grace, earning the respect of their competitors as seen by the incredible support from around the province at the CCAA National Championships at Durham College.  Accumulating an unprecedented list of team and individual accolades, the Men’s Volleyball team was the pride of the college and the OCAA.  Their comradery, accountability, work ethic and incredible technical and tactical skill would see them build a winning culture that has yet to be replicated across Loyalist Lancers athletics.

Completing their season as OCAA Champions and CCAA Silver Medalists, saw this team live up to their #1 OCAA and #2 CCAA ranking they donned for the majority of the season.  Other notable accomplishments would see the Lancers dominate the OCAA league all-star selections with Mike McDonald, Brent Tripp and Joey Martins receiving those honours. In addition, Chris Carson was named the OCAA East Division Coach of the Year, with Brent Tripp and Joey Martins receiving CCAA All-Canadian honours and Martins receiving the OCAA Championship MVP, highlighting their leadership on an incredible team.
