LANCERS GET BACK TO .500 WITH WIN OVER KNIGHTS

The Lancers got back in the win column with a well played 77-61 win over the Fleming Knights in the Lancerdome Friday night.

After a bit of a slow start, the Lancers got back on track and overtook the lead by the end of the first quarter and maintained their hold through the remainder of the game. Firing on all cylinders in the second, the Lancers moved the ball well and spread the offense to outscored the Knights 20-11 to hold a 40-28 lead at the half.

The Knights battled back in the third with a more consistent offense, but the Lancers held strong with tough defence and maintained their lead into the final quarter where they pushed to a 77-61 final to earn their 7th win and get back to .500.

Head Coach Patrick Kabeya was happy with the win, but knows there's still room for improvement. "We played a very disciplined first half but committed too many unforced turnover in the second. Our depth was really key for us today. We've shortening the leash on many of our mis ques and it's already starting to pay off and will continue to do so down the stretch."

Chris Asomani and Noah Korovesi lead the Lancers in scoring with 15 points each while Fleming's Romello Taylor was the game high scorer with 25.

The Lancers get right back at it Tuesday when they host the Durham Lords at 8pm.
