LANCERS HOLD ON FOR VICTORY OVER HUSKIES

It was a highly competitive day for the Lancer basketball teams as they hosted the George Brown Huskies in their second match up of a back-to-back weekend.

The men's game was a tight one from start to finish. The Lancers took the lead early on and held a 27-18 lead at the end of the first quarter. Closing the gap in te second, the Huskies took the lead 44-42 at the half. Lancers' veteran Maleek Ekumba Quinta had an outstanding second quarter with a long two and a three pointer back-to-back to keep the game close. The game was very back and fourth throughout the second half with Philip Dasilva being a key player. The Lancers took a one point lead off a hard tough layup from first year Lancer Tevin McCallum with mere seconds to go. The George Brown Huskies had the ball in Lancers territory but an amazing steal from Ekumba Quinta held off the Huskies and secured the victory for the home team.

The victory improves the team's record to 2-0 on the season. The Lancers are back in action Friday February 18th in Ottawa when they take on the Algonquin Thunder.
