The Lancers got back in the win column with a victory over the La Cite Coyotes on Saturday to go 1-1 on the weekend.
The home team went up 17-7 early on in the game before the Coyotes found their footing and brought the game to 22-14 at the end of the first 10 minutes. The second and third quarters were all Coyotes as they outscored the Lancers in both, scoring a combined 46 points to trail by 1 going into the final quarter.
First year Lancer point guard Jaden Jack made a layup early in the 4th that swung the momentum and allowed the team to push to a 83-77 win.
Jack led his team in scoring with a career high performance that included an impressive 27 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals. Fellow first year D'Shawn Nicely turned in a career-high game of his own with 24 points and 3 steals, while veteran Lancer Bobby Buck went 5-6 from the foul line and played gritty, disciplined defence.
The Lancers will look to add another win to their now 7-5 record when they travel to Kingston, ON to take on the St. Lawrence Surge on Wednesday.
