LANCERS GO 1-1 IN BACK TO BACK GAMES

The men's volleyball team lost a tough one against the Algonquin Thunder Saturday night in Ottawa.
Looking sharp at the start of the match, the Lancers competed well in a first set that saw the teams go point for point the majority of the game. Falling just short in a close 26-24 decision for the Thunder, the Lancers rallied to take the lead mid way through the second set. Playing with more offensive finesse than usual, the Lancers ousted the Thunder 27-25 to even the game at 1 set a piece.

Things got away from the Lancers early on in the third and they were unable to recover.  Unforced errors plagued the Lancers, allowing the Thunder to win the third and fourth sets 25-17 and 25-19 to close out the game in a final 3-1 victory.

In part two of the back to back games over the weekend, the Lancers came out on top of  the La Cite Coyotes on Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 victory.

Determined to leave the loss to Algonquin behind them, the Lancers came out fighting, winning the first set 25-17. Hard swings and timely digs from first year Lancer Kaleb Beere helped keep the Lancers in the lead.

Rolling to a 25-11 win in the second,  the Lancers took a quick 2-0 set lead before taking the third 25-17 for the 3 set win.

Second year player Aaron Wilson provided excellent blocking for the Lancers, while first year Lancer, Josh Hull was a real threat with stellar offence and consistent serves from the back line.

The Lancers look to add another win to their season when they take on the Georgian Grizzlies Saturday November 23rd at home.
