The men's volleyball team secured their first win of the season in convincing fashion with a straight-sets victory over the La Cite Coyotes on Sunday November 6th.
Playing in front of a rambunctious home-town crowd, the Lancer rebounded from a bit of a slow start to finish strong in set 1 with a score of 25-18. With tough serving and a strong offensive performance, the Lancer held the Coyotes to 19 in the second set before closing things out with a huge 25-14 victory to win the game 3-0.
Second year Lancer Pedro Casellatto recorded an amazing 9 aces in only 2 sets while first year teammate, Murilo Sales de Oliveira lead the game in overall scoring with 10 kills on 21 attempts and 2 aces for a 12 point game. Fellow first year player Scott Collard turned in a great performance, coming off the bench and adding 4 aces, 11 assists and an ace in the third set.
The Lancers look to add another win to their 1-3 record when they host the Centennial Colts on Saturday November 12th at 3 PM.
