LANCERS DOWNED BY THUNDER

After a tough start to the game, the Lancers found their footing in the second half and closed the gap against the East leading Algonquin Thunder.

Down by 20 at the half, the Lancers turned thing around by upping their defensive intensity and shooting percentage. Having slowed the Thunder's offence, the Lancers started to make simple shots and outscored the Thunder 37-32 in the second.

Second year veteran Brittany Mason continued to be a dominant force with 15 points on the night while first year teammate Kate Raso contributed 10 points of her own.

Despite the score, the Lancers never gave up and continuously battled the Nationally ranked Thunder to a 68-53 finish.

The loss puts the Lancers at a 5-7 record and in 5th place in the division with 5 games left in the season. Next up are the Seneca Sting in Tuesday January 22 in Toronto.
