LANCERS ADD MALIKSI TO GROWING SQUAD

The Women's Basketball program continues to grow with the addition of Jessyka Maliksi.

A 5'3" guard from Mississauga, ON, Maliksi brings a wealth of experience from the hardwood with her, from both the high school (St. Francis Xavier Secondary School) and club (Jayhawks, Bayan Lakan) levels as well as from the college level as a member of the Niagara Knights, 3rd place finishers at the 2021/22 OCAA Provincial Championships, who recognized her contributions with the team's Leadership Award.

Entering into the two-year Journalism Communications diploma program, Maliksi says coming to Loyalist was an easy decision. "Coach Caleb always had my back and saw potential in me since my senior year in high school. The girls on the team are nice and the overall atmosphere of the school and local community is what drew me in to commit to Loyalist."

Head Coach Caleb Hugh looks forward to having Maliksi as part of his program. " Jessyka's passion for the game, leadership, and team first attitude will make a great impact on our basketball program.  She's been well coached throughout her basketball career, has a high basketball IQ, and is an outstanding shooter. Not only will she make an immediate difference for the Lancers but the basketball community in general will benefit from having Jess in the area thanks to her willingness to give back to the game!

The Lancers will be hosting training camps throughout the summer months; anyone interested in taking part should complete the Prospective Athlete Form to get connected with the coaching staff.
