The Women's basketball team fell 68-48 to the Durham Lords Friday night in Oshawa.
After a tough start that saw the Lancers trailing 21-8 in the first quarter, the squad came charging back in the second to tie the game at 26 with only 2:09 left. A clutch layup from first year Lancer, Kate Maxwell gave the Lancers their first lead of the game with 5 second to go in the half.
They came out strong in the second and kept the game close until late in the third when the Lords widened the gap to 11. The Lancers were outscored 17-6 in the final quarter to drop to a 68- 48 final decision.
Veteran players Cianah Miller and Jessyka Maliksi each scored 9 in the game while Maxwell added 8 and 6 rebounds.
The Lancers get bac in action next week when they play host to the George Brown Huskies on Friday November 18.
