LANCERS FALL IN TOUGH BATTLE WITH THUNDER

The Lancers took on the East Division's first place team, Algonquin Thunder Saturday night at home.
 
The Lancers got caught on their heels early on in the first half and allowed the Thunder to score their first goal only 5 minutes in. The Thunder went on to score three more well executed goals in the first half despite good defensive efforts from the home team.
 
Playing with more intent and physicality in the second half, the Lancers defended incredibly well and completely shut down the Thunder offence. Second year Lancer Cortney Bolch was dynamic in net, making 26 saves to hold the Thunder to their smallest win margin of the season. 
 
The 4-0 loss makes it two in a row for the Lancers and drops their record to 0-1-3. The team looks to get break their winless stream when they face the 0-4 Fleming Knights, Thursday September 26th in Peterborough.
