LANCER SOCCER ADDS TO 2020 ROSTER

The Lancers are excited to announce the signing of their first women's soccer player for the 2020-2021 season.

Alice Bandel comes to the Lancers on the heels of a successful 8-year competitive soccer career in the Durham Region.  A 5'6 central defender, Bandel brings a wealth of experience to the developing Lancer squad and adds an element of expertise to the team's defensive abilities.

"We are extremely pleased to have Alice committed to our program" says Head Coach Rob Terry. "Alice is a very talented player with great game sense and individual skills, including a very heavy shot. She will fill the role of an on field leader who anchors our defence and is involved in attacking situations and set pieces as well.  She's already showing that she raises the level of those around her, and is the kind of player you can build a successful program around."

Awarded most dedicated player, most valuable player and the team chosen "Players Player" award by her Darby FC Reserve team, Bandel shows promise of a well-rounded player who adds as much to team dynamic as she does to on field talent level.

The Bowmanville native has accepted a seat in the highly sought after Paramedic program and chose Loyalist for it's location and sense of community. "When I got my acceptance into the Paramedic program, a professor reached out to me and basically said he was there if I had any pressing questions. That is what really sealed the deal for me - the sense that I would be part of a college community and not just another face in the crowd."

Bandel joins Coach Terry and the rest of the Lancer squad for a host of training sessions and exhibition games in the lead up to the fall season.
