LANCERS BATTLE BACK FOR SECOND WIN OF THE SEASON

LANCERS BATTLE BACK FOR SECOND WIN OF THE SEASON

The Lancers earned their second win of the season in a 5 set thriller over the Fleming Knights.

After a tough loss on Sunday, the Lancers bounced back in a big way and came out strong in the first set.  Despite Lancer efforts, the now 0-5 Knights also started strong and managed to come out on top in the first two sets.

Strong serving and aggressive blocks from 1st year player, Caileigh Von Zuben, brought the Lancers back in the third set to avoid the sweep and push a fourth set.

The Lancers went on to win the fourth set 25-22 to even the score at 2 sets a piece. Forcing a 5th and final set, the Lancers worked hard to maintain the lead and cruised to a 15-7 victory to take the game 3-2.

The Lancers showed tremendous improvement in consistency in many aspects of their game.
One of the team's most experience players and co-captain, Paula Bailey, turned in a great all around performance with hard swings, consistent defence and accurate free ball and serve receive passing.

Co-captain to Bailey, Rachel Streekstra, was dominant at the net while persistently being  the positive and spirited energy that the Lancers needed on the court the entire game.

With the win, the Lancers improve to 2-2 and look to add a third win when they take on the Seneca Sting on the road Saturday November 9th at 1 PM.
