DIEMERT & MCCLENAGHAN JOIN LANCERS

Head Coach Ryan Stoness and the Lancers are pleased to welcome Alyssa Diemert and Madi McClenaghan to the Women's Volleyball program.

Both athletes boast an impressive playing history in the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) and have a long list of team and individual accolades.

Alyssa Diemert, currently with the Storm (Hurricanes) Volleyball Club in Aurora, Ontario, is a powerful, offensive-minded middle who brings smart attacks and exceptional blocking instincts to the Lancers.  With experience playing for Team Ontario and two OVA Gold medals to her name, Diemert's experience, skillset and passion will be an incredible addition to the growing Lancer squad.

Also joining the team is setter Madi McClenaghan. An impressive setter, first and foremost, McClenaghan is a utility player at heart who adds further depth and possibilities to the Lancers. She's spent seven years in the OVA – five of which with her current club, Durham Attack – and is a two-time recipient of the OVA Award of Excellence which is presented annually to athletes who have best exemplified a dedication to volleyball, perseverance and commitment to the game, sportsmanship/leadership and performance.

"Both Madi and Alyssa have a deep love of the game and will be wonderful additions to the Lancers" says Coach Stoness of his two newest additions.  "Madi has an excellent volleyball IQ, is a strong server, has a great defensive presence and can lead a strong offensive attack.  Alyssa brings a strong offensive attack out of the middle and will allow us to diversify our offensive strategies with an already existing strong defensive core."

Coach Stoness and his staff will be hosting training camps throughout the summer to prepare for the coming season. Anyone interested in joining those sessions can complete the Prospective Athlete form to get connected.
