WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL TEAM ADVANCES TO QUARTER FINALS
Loyalist Lancers Women's Volleyball Team Clinches Victory in Cross-Over Match Against Cambrian Golden Shield
In an electrifying display of skill and determination, the Loyalist Lancers women's volleyball team emerged triumphant in their home-court cross-over match against the West's 7th place Cambrian Golden Shield on Saturday, February 10th. The Lancers showcased their prowess on the court with relentless energy and strategic gameplay, securing a well-deserved victory that had the crowd on their feet throughout the entire match.
Despite a slightly rocky start, the Lancers quickly turned things around, gained momentum, and set the pace for an exhilarating match.
The game was marked by intense rallies and impressive athleticism from both sides. The Golden Shield put up a hard battle, challenging the Lancers with their own impressive displays of skill and determination. However, the Lancers remained steadfast, maintaining their focus and composure even when they found themselves behind.
While sets 1 & 2 were exciting to watch, set 3 was one for the books with both teams leaving everything they had on the court. Cambrian held a 4 point lead late in the game but the Lancers battled back to come within 1 and push the game to extra points. From here, the teams went point-for-point until the home team managed to secure 2 in a row and came away with the 31-29 victory to take the game in 3 straight sets.
With the win, the Lancers advance to the ¼ final round of the OCAA Women's Volleyball playoffs and will host the Niagara Knights on Saturday February 17th at 1 PM.
The winner of the ¼ final game will advance to the Provincial Championships on February 23/24th.
