TERWILLEGAR LEADS LANCERS IN OCAA LEAGUE AWARDS

Loyalist College's Women's Volleyball Team has once again proven its dominance in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA), with several standout players earning top honours for their exceptional performances during the season. 

Allyson Terwillegar (Enniskillen, ON) has earned the title of Player of the Year for the East Division. As a fifth-year outside hitter, Terwillegar has displayed outstanding skills and leadership throughout the season. Her impressive statistics speak volumes about her contribution to the team's success, averaging an impressive 4.3 points per set. With 224 kills, 38 service aces, and 10 blocks, she has accumulated a total of 272 points throughout 18 matches. Terwillegar's exceptional performance not only earned her the East Division Player of the Year accolade but also secured her a spot among the OCAA statistical leaders. Additionally, her stellar performance has been recognized at the national level, as she has been named a CCAA All-Canadian. Terwillegar's inclusion in the East Division First-Team All-Stars further underscores her status as one of the top talents in collegiate women's volleyball.

Another standout player from Loyalist College is Charlie Cudmore, who has been named the East Division Rookie of the Year. Cudmore (Ottawa, ON) has made a significant impact in their debut season with the team. As a middle blocker, the 6'0" middle has showcased their versatility and athleticism on the court, contributing 2.1 points per set. Throughout the season, Cudmore has amassed 86 kills, 22 service aces, and 24 blocks, totaling an impressive 132 points across 18 matches. Cudmore's stellar performance not only earned the title of Rookie of the Year but has also cemented their place as a key player in the team's lineup. Cudmore's exceptional talent and potential bode well for the future of Loyalist College's volleyball program, and their inclusion in the East Division All-Rookie Team serves as a testament to the promising start of what is sure to be an incredible collegiate career.

In addition to Terwillegar and Cudmore's outstanding achievements, Alyssa Diemert (Egbert, ON) and Georgi Williams (Oshawa, ON) have also been recognized for their exceptional contributions to the team's success. Diemert and Williams have both been named First-Team All-Stars in the East Division, further solidifying Loyalist College's dominance in women's volleyball.
