Stoness, Condie Step Down From Women's Volleyball Program

The Loyalist Women's Volleyball team announces that Head Coach, Ryan Stoness, and Assistant Coach, James Condie, will be stepping away from the program following the team's bronze medal finish at the OCAA Championships.

Stoness was named Head Coach in 2019 after starting his career with the Lancers as an assistant coach with the men's program. Under his leadership, the Loyalist Women's Volleyball program soared to new heights, culminating in the first-ever OCAA medal for the program and 5 OCAA award winners, including East Division Play of the Year, East Division Rookie of the Year honours and a Championship All-Star.
Condie, who is in his second year with the program, has been a wonderful addition to the coaching staff and played an instrumental role in skill development and team cohesion.

Director of Athletics & Recreation, Cristy Latham extends her gratitude to the coaches for their efforts with the Lancers. "In a short time, Coach Stoness made a lasting impact on our Lancer Volleyball program. He is a value-oriented coach, leading with positivity and a passion for helping athletes reach their full potential both on and off the court. On behalf of the athletes and the staff, we thank Ryan and James for their dedication and commitment to our Lancer family."

During his tenure, Coach Stoness not only focused on the team's on-court performance but also emphasized personal growth, sportsmanship, and academic success among his players. His commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes has left a lasting impact on the Loyalist Women's Volleyball program.

The search for a new head coach is underway with the program looking for an experienced, passionate coach who is committed to athlete development. Interested candidates are asked to reach out to Latham at clatham@loyalistcollege.com.
