2018-19 INDOOR SPORT SCHEDULES ANNOUNCED

The OCAA has release the 2018-2019 schedule for the upcoming varsity season.

The volleyball teams open up the season for the indoor sports on Friday October 19th when they host the La Cite Coyotes in the Lancerdome at 6&8pm.

With 18 games lined up, the Lancers hit the road at the end of October for their longest swing trip where they'll take on the Georgian Grizzlies and Canadore Panthers.

The women's team will look to get back into playoff contention after a two year run at the OCAA Provincial Championships in February. Veteran players Alicia Orsborne, Hannah Dossett & Lorraine Spellman well be key pieces to the team to get the new players ready for the league.

On the men's side, Coach Jenkins looks to build on last year's team improvements by adding some fresh faces to the lineup. With a number of talented and experienced recruits joining the team, the Lancers expect to make some waves in the East division.

Both the men's and women's teams wrap up the first half of their season on December 1st against the Centennial Colts. The teams will enjoy over a month's break to recoup and prepare for a very busy and quick second semester. Squeezing 9 games into less than 1 full month, the Lancers' final regular season games will be played in front of home crowds on Saturday Feb. 9th against the Georgian Grizzlies.

The women's basketball team starts up regular season with a pair of games on the road against the George Brown Huskies on October 20th and the Georgian Grizzlies on October 27th.

Newly appointed head Coach Caleb Hugh will lead the team through a 17 game schedule that sees the team take on George Brown, Algonquin and St. Lawrence three separate times each. Similar to the volleyball teams, the Lancers will enjoy a 38 day break in December to prepare for the second half of the season which sees them play their final home game of the season on Feb. 1st against the same team it all began with – the George Brown Huskies.

While maintaining a similar schedule, the men's basketball team competes in 20 games throughout the season and will play three games on the road before finally playing in the Lancerdome on Friday November 2nd against the Algonquin Thunder.

After losing out of the post season with a hard fought loss against the top ranked Redeemer Royals last season, the Lancers look to build on their experiences and get themselves back in the playoffs. Third year coach Patrick Kabeya has worked tirelessly in the off season to bring new players to the program and improve the skillset of his many returning players.

The men's program will battle through a rigorous 10 game schedule throughout the second half, capping it all off with a home game against the Canadore Panthers at 1pm to wrap up the Lancers regular season games.
