Kara Muhlhausen

Inducted April 2, 2015

Kara Pauline Muhlhausen was born in Belleville, Ontario on March 1, 1988. She attended Loyalist College from 2006 to 2008 graduating from the Biotechnology Technician Program with honors.

Her impact on our women’s basketball program was immediate and significant. She became one of the top scorers in the OCAA in her rookie season averaging 17.12 points per game. During the 2006-07 season she set a new OCAA record by going to the foul line 190 times. Kara was also one of the league’s top defenders and top rebounders. Her efforts that season resulted in Kara being named both an OCAA League and Tournament All Star. In addition she was named a CCAA Academic All Canadian and was named her team’s MVP. To cap off her brilliant inaugural season Kara was named Loyalists Female Athlete of the Year.

The 2007-08 season saw Kara continue to be one of the most versatile and dominate players in the league. The Lancer line up had been infused with more individual talent so Kara was no longer needed to bet the team’s top scorer game in and game out. She still averaged over 14 points per game but continued to be one of the league top rebounders. She grabbed 121 rebounds that season and helped lead her team to the OCAA Championships where they made it to the Final Four. To date this is the schools only Final Four appearance. Kara duplicated her individual accolades from the previous season by once again be named a OCAA League and Tournament All Star , CCAA Academic All Canadian and the team’s MVP. In bringing her outstanding two years at Loyalist to a close Kara was once again named Loyalist Colleges Female Athlete of the Year.
