The Lancers took care of business on Friday night defeating the University of Toronto – Mississauga Eagles 84-76 at home.
Loyalist shot effectively from the floor, played aggressive defense and were very opportunistic when they had their chances to help them snap a two game losing streak.
The first quarter belonged to the Eagles as they led throughout the whole quarter. However, the Lancers were just one step behind them down only 20-17.
The second quarter was evenly matched as it was back and forth the entire quarter, which helped the Lancers go into the half tied at 31-31.
Loyalist continued to play with a sharp offense and good ball movement in the third and fourth quarter which helped them secure the 84-76 victory.
Third-year player Noah Korovesi contributed with 18 points, while Angelo Sarsonas finished with a near triple-double with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. Veteran Akim Rout had another excellent showing both ends of the court with 18 points and 6 boards.
