LANCERS FALL IN HOME OPENER

The Lancers kicked off their season with a tough 5-0 loss to the Durham Lords at home.

The Lancers played in front of a stellar crowd that enjoyed a night of exciting soccer, a BBQ fun games for kids and an impressive fireworks display at the end of the night.
 
The Lords opened the scoring 7 minutes into the game and held onto a 1-0 lead through the first half.
 
First year Lancer Courtney Bolch was incredible in net with an impressive 21 saves to keep the game within 1.
 
The Lords kicked things up a notch in the second half, scoring at the 50 minute mark and again 8 minutes later to make it a 3-0 game. 
Two more late goals pushed the visiting team to a 5-0 victory. 
Cory Lapointe was the leading scorer for the Lords with 2 goals while Mya Beverly, Jacklyn Brzezinski and Melinda Roberto each added one.
 
The Lancers get back in action Tuesday night at 7pm when they host the Fleming Knights.
