2019 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES ANNOUNCED

The Athletics Department at Loyalist College and the Sports Hall of Fame selection committee are proud to announce the inductees for the 2019 Loyalist Lancers Sports Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame Class of 2019 will include decorated athletes, Erin Rose (Women's Basketball), Sara Maybee (Women's Basketball) along with two of the most successful coaches in Lancer history, Eric Anderson (Coach, Women's Basketball) and Tony Clarke (Coach, Women's Volleyball).

"We're very excited to continue to build our Hall of Fame with these four outstanding individuals who follow in the footsteps of previous inductees," says Athletic Director Jim Buck, who created the Loyalist Sports Hall of Fame in 2002. "Tony, Sara, Erin and Eric and incredibly worthy candidates and have made tremendous contributions to athletics at Loyalist College in their own special ways."

The new inductees bring the total to 28 former athletes, coaches and builders who have made significant contributions to athletics at Loyalist. These distinguished members have played vital roles in the development of the program and the impact it has on student life on campus. The official induction ceremony will take place on Friday, May 10th 2019 at Loyalist College and honour the accomplishments as listed below.

 Erin Rose - Athlete, Women's Basketball

  • 2008 East Rookie of the Year
  • 2008 OCAA Rookie of the Year
  • 2008 East Scoring Title
  • 2008 & 2009 2nd Team All-Star
  • 2008 & 2009 OCAA Academic All Canadian
  • 2009 Bob Young Award winner
  • Graduated in 2009

Sara Maybee – Athlete, Women's Basketball

  • 2008 & 2009 Academic All Canadian
  • 2008 Dave Butler Award Winner
  • 2009 Athlete of the Year
  • 2008 & 2009 1st Team All-Star
  • OCAA All Star Game MVP
  • Record for most points in a game by a Lancer (44)
  • Graduated in 2009

Eric Anderson – Coach, Women's Basketball

  • Earned 3 playoff berths in only 3 ½ years as a coach
  • Coached his way to a 4th place finish at the Provincials Championships in 2007-08
  • Lead the team to the best season in Women's Basketball history at Loyalist in 2007-2008

Tony Clarke – Coach, Women's Volleyball

  • Finished top 3 in the East Division in 5 of 7 seasons coached at Loyalist
  • 4th place finish at the 2008-2009 OCAA Provincial Championships at Durham College (final 4 format)
  • 2008-09 Coach of the Year
  • Finished 5th at the 2009-10 OCAA Provincial Championships at Loyalist
  • Holds a 90-38 overall regular season record
  • 10 of his athletes were recognized as OCAA All Stars; 5 of them received CCAA All Academic Banners
  • Lead the team to post-season playoff berths in all 7 seasons coached
