 Brent Tripp attended Trenton High School where he was a talented multi-sport athlete. At 6’6” Brent was highly coveted by both the Lancer Basketball and Volleyball programs. Ultimately Brent chose to play volleyball where he became one of the most dominant middle players in the Country. During his 3 seasons with the Men’s Volleyball squad Brent racked up an amazing number of both team and individual accolades. In the 2000-2001 season the Lancers captured an OCAA Silver medal. The next two seasons would see the Lancers dominate their OCAA competition by winning back to back Provincial titles. Not only were they a force at the Provincial level they were always a threat at the National level. They claimed a CCAA Bronze in the 2001-02 season and in Brent’s final year as a Lancer; 2002-03 the team won a CCAA Silver.

Individually Brent was a three time OCAA League All Star; he was also a Championship All Star in the 2000-01 season. At the 2001-02 Provincial Championships he was name the Championship MVP. During the 2002-03 campaign Brent was the East Conference scoring champion and was named both a CCAA All Canadian and CCAA Academic All Canadian. Brent was a fierce competitor and always played his best when it mattered most. In four Championship games, three at the Provincials and one at the Nationals he was named player of the game on three occasions.

In his graduating year Brent was awarded the very prestige’s Arthur McFarlane Award. After his playing days Brent brought his incredible knowledge of the game to the Lancer coaching staff where he served as an Assistant Coach for six seasons.
