Inducted May 10, 2019

Sara Suzanne Maybee was born on August 27, 1985 in Belleville, Ontario. She attended Loyalist from 2007 until 2009 where she graduated from the Social Service Worker program.

Having three years of OCAA experience already, Sara brought a wealth of talent and court savvy to the Lancers. Sara’s scoring prowess and defensive quickness paid immediate dividends to a talented Lancer squad. Her ability to hit crucial shots, especially from behind the arc, made the Lancers a real threat during the 2007-2008 season. Sara and her teammates would make it all the way to the OCAA Final Four, a historical moment for the Lancers women’s basketball program. She finished fifth in the province in scoring with a total of 210 points, which included 41 three pointers. For her outstanding accomplishments Sara was named an OCAA League All-Star. She would also capture the prestigious Dave Butler Award at the year end Lancer Athletic Banquet.

In her second year with the Lancers and her final year in the OCAA, Sara upped her scoring stats from the previous season. The 2008-2009 season would see Sara amass an incredible 270 points on the season, as she finished the year averaging 19 PPG, placing her second in scoring in the province. Once again her shooting from behind the arc was unstoppable, scoring 45 three pointers; to date this is a Lancer record. Her combined total of 480 points currently has her tied for third in Lancer scoring history. She also had a career high of 44 points in a single game, which at this time is the highest in Lancer women’s basketball history.

Sara wrapped up her career with the Lancers by being named a CCAA All-Canadian, a CCAA Academic All-Canadian and was named the colleges Female Athlete of the Year.
