LANCERS IMPROVE TO 6-1

The Lancers cruised to a commanding 94-75 win over the La Cite Coyotes Friday night in Belleville.

The home team jumped out to an early lead and put 10 points up before the Coyotes managed to get on the board. The Lancers were dominant at both ends of the court with strong rebounding and smart offensive shots to extend their lead to 29-8 after the first quarter. Remaining solid through the second half, the Lancers kept pressure on the Coyotes offence and held them to only 29 points in the first half of the game.

The Coyotes improved their game in the third and fourth quarter but weren't able to recover from the early deficit. The Lancers maintained a 20 point lead for the majority of the game and finished with a 94-75 decision to improve their record to 6-1 on the season.

Proving the depth and versatility of the squad this season, four different Lancers contributed double digit performances. First year Lancer Ebenezer Teklezgi led the team in scoring with 19 points while Jeremiah Brown recorded his first double double of the season with 17 points and 12 rebounds. In his second year with the team, Bobby Buck contributed 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals and a block while fifth year veteran Noah Korovesi added 13 points of his own.

The Lancers are back in action Saturday when they play host to the Algonquin Thunder at 3 PM.
