LANCERS FALL IN STRAIGHT SETS
The Lancers lost a 3 set battle against the George Brown Huskies in their final home game of 2021.
The home team started off strong with big blocks and smart attacks to take an early lead before the Huskies got their footing and took hold of the game. Carrying the momentum into the second set, the visiting Huskies went on a 7 point run to take an early lead and push to victory in the second, and then third set.
First year Lancer Josh Vreugdenhil continued to lead his team with 8 kills and a block for 9 points. Fellow first year athlete John Koenes had a solid game with smart attacks, strong blocks and improved defense.
Despite the outcome, the Lancers battled hard and showed consistent improvements in their game.
With the exhibition season wrapped up, the Lancers look ahead to their first regular season matchup on January 7th, once again the Huskies.
