NEW COACH FOR WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

NEW COACH FOR WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Lancers women's basketball team will have a new coaching staff when the 2018/19 season rolls around in September.

Caleb Hugh (Belleville, ON) has been selected as new Head Coach after former coaches Jamie McCourt and Chris Harrison made the decision to step away from the program.

Hugh has spent the past two season on the bench with the men's program as lead assistant coach while maintaining a heavy involvement in the local basketball scene. Having been a part of 3 different highschool teams (St. Theresa's S.S, Quinte S.S & Prince Edward Collegiate Institute) and the County Clippers club program, Hugh has plenty of experience and connections that will assist him in his transition to the lead role at the Collegiate level.

Athletic Director Jim Buck knows Hugh is a good fit for the program. "I'm excited for Caleb to have this opportunity. He's been a proven commodity with us for many years – first as an athlete and then as an assistant coach." While sad to see Coach McCourt go, Buck knows the program is in good hands going forward. "I'm excited for Caleb to take the program forward. Jamie MCourt did really great things for the Lancers and got the team to a good spot, now I look forward to seeing where it can go with Caleb at the helm."
