COACHES TERRY ADDS TO STAFF

The Loyalist Lancers are excited to announce the Coaching Staff for the Fall 2021 Women's Soccer season.

Rob Terry will join the team for another season in the Head Coach position. Rob joined the Lancers in 2018 and since his appointment, the women's soccer team has seen a major shift in the competitiveness of the program. Terry has an athlete-first mentality and a keen eye in developing the unique individual skills of each athlete on his team. Due to the recruiting efforts of Coach Terry, both on the athlete and coach side, he has set his team up for a very exciting season.

Rejoining Coach Terry in one of three Assistant Coach positions this season, will be Emily Osmond. Having played soccer for four years at Bishop's University and one as a Loyalist Lancer, Osmond understands first-hand what it is to succeed as a student athlete "I was a high-level competitive student athlete for five total years and understand what the highs and lows of being in this position are, and cannot wait to assist other girls in the same journey". Osmond was the Captain and MVP for both the Bishops and Lancers post-secondary teams and is excited to bring her 23 years of soccer experience to the field for another season, "A successful team can be equated to a positive and supportive culture and environment".

We're also thrilled to announce Assistant Coach, Rachel Cole, who will be joining the team. Like Osmond, Cole joins the Lancers with a wealth of soccer experience and knowledge. Coach Cole played for the Missouri Vikings and was awarded the prestigious Rookie of the Year award at the end of her first season. Not only was Cole also a Lancer star, she completed as a dual-sport athletes (soccer & volleyball) for all three seasons.  She is excited to work with student athletes in an Assistant Coach role. "From being a former athlete to coach I bring the knowledge on how to navigate through post-secondary education with a busy schedule". Cole and Osmond are also focused on promoting living a healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally amongst the females on the team. Cole continues,  "my primary focus for this team is fitness and emotional well-being".

Lastly, the Lancers are excited to welcome Assistant Coach, Thomas Moran, to the team. Moran has nine years of coaching experience, ranging from the Kingston FC and Belleville FC, to KBFC, where he currently holds the Head Coach position. Coach Moran will focus on training and assisting Terry with the tactical plans for the season. His plans include working alongside the other three member of the coaching team to take the Lancers to the next level, "I like to empower players to succeed not just in sport, but in life".  

Coach Terry and his newly established team of coaches will hold open tryouts for the Lancers on Tuesday September 7, Wednesday September 8 & Thursday September 9, 2021. All those wishing to take part in tryouts are asked to pre-register here.
